Dr. Alice Cioara, OD, MBA
MEET OUR DOCTOR
In 2001, Dr. Alice Cioara (last name pronounced SEE-OR-AH) graduated from Barry University, located in Miami Shores, Florida, where she completed her Bachelors of Science degree - Biology (major) and Chemistry (minor). Following in 2005, she successfully attained the Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
During her optometric education, Dr. Cioara completed an externship at the Tianjin Medical University Eye Hospital in Tianjin, China, where she studied under the supervision of Dr. Wang (Director of refractive surgery) and Dr. Zhao (Director of the eye hospital and of the department of strabismus). Dr. Cioara's areas of experience during her externship were concentrated in the areas of glaucoma, refractive surgery, and strabismus.
Since education has always been an integral component in Dr. Cioara's upbringing, she continued her post-graduate studies at The Huizenga College of Business at Nova Southeastern University, where in 2009 she received the degree of Master of Business Administration.
In 2010, she founded her first private practice in Staunton, Virginia. Six years later, she expanded to Charlottesville to serve the growing demand for high-quality, personalized eye care. In 2021, she opened a second location in Harrisonburg, continuing her mission to bring expert optometric care to the greater Virginia community.
Dr. Cioara is TPA-board certified and licensed to practice in Virginia, Kentucky, and Florida.
